‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 15, titled “We're Planning a June Wedding,” will feature the return of a fierce enemy. Damon and Stefan are intending to pull off a mock wedding, with Caroline’s help, in order to lure her out and defeat her once and for all.
The synopsis for “We're Planning a June Wedding,” posted on TV Guide reads, “A wedding is quickly planned in order for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to lure a dangerous enemy, who is threatening the very fate of Mystic Falls, out into the open.”
According to Comic Book Movie, Katherine Pierce will be returning to the small screen but this time as the Queen of Hell herself. It seems that the villain has gotten busy with her time away from wreaking havoc in Mystic Falls.
Katherine is a doppelganger, who was an ex-lover to both Damon and Stefan Salvatore. She was a main antagonist in season 1 and is also a supporting antagonist in season 8. She also took on the form of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) at some point.
It remains unclear whether Dobrev will make her special appearance as Katherine on the character’s return as the actress is said to make a comeback only in the season finale. The episode marks the return of Kelly Donovan (Melinda Clare) as seen in the photographs posted on TV Fanatic. It was speculated that Katherine would be taking the form of Kelly to sabotage Stefan and Caroline’s wedding ceremony.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 15, titled “We're Planning a June Wedding,” is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017 on The CW. It was directed by Chris Grismer with a story by Jen Vestuto & Melissa Marlette and teleplay by Melinda Hsu Taylor. It will be followed by episode 16, titled
"I Was Feeling Epic," scheduled to be released for March 10.
