The anticipated “The Sims 4: Spa Day” update is going live this week. After a few years since its release, the game pack is getting new features that will introduce new aspirations and allow more Sims to join wellness activities.
‘The Sims 4: Spa Day’ Refresh update features
The spa-themed game pack was the second game pack ever released for the game and originally came out in 2015. “The Sims 4: Spa Day” added the ability to build spa buildings and wellness activities to help Sims relax, including getting massages, meditation, going to mud baths, and doing yoga.
With all the time that has passed since its launch, it is only fitting that EA and Maxis are delivering new content for “The Sims 4: Spa Day” this week. One of the new features to go live in this “refresh” is that child Sims will not be able to join wellness activities. As shown in the “The Sims 4: Spa Day” update trailer, activities like yoga now look more like an all-ages event.
“The Sims 4: Spa Day” refresh will also reward Sims with more Simoleons when they teach others to “find control through mindfulness.” The Wellness aspiration is also getting an update this week as Sims can soon aspire to be a Zen Guru or a Self-Care Specialist.
One major addition coming with “The Sims 4: Spa Day” refresh is the new high-maintenance Sims. This will be added as a new trait, and EA describes them as struggling “with trivial things.” That means these Sims will have more reasons to visit the spa.
A new aspiration called Inner Peace is arriving with the “The Sims 4: Spa Day” refresh. This will be complemented by the addition of spa services like manicures, pedicures, and facial masks.
The update will also let Sims customize their nails, and the options go beyond just choosing a nail polish color. “The Sims 4: Spa Day” refresh will allow players to choose designs and different shapes to express their creativity through their nails. Some of them were also designed by popular modder Ebonix.
‘The Sims 4: Spa Day’ Refresh update release date
“The Sims 4: Spa Day” refresh will be available for free, but players will need to purchase the game pack to access it. A countdown on Sims Community indicates the update will go live on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
