‘The Fosters’ season 4’s episode 20, titled “Until Tomorrow,” will follow Callie as she is forced to make a life-altering decision regarding her impending imprisonment. Meanwhile, Stef and Mike will double their efforts with their investigation into the murder.
The synopsis for “Until Tomorrow” posted on TV Guide reads, “In the Season 4 finale, Callie (Maia Mitchell) must decide to take a plea deal and go to jail for three years or go to trial and risk an even longer sentence.
Meanwhile, Stef (Teri Polo) and Mike (Danny Nucci) ramp up their investigation into the murder; Lena (Sherri Saum) confronts Drew about his campaign; Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) rallies her fellow students to protest; and Jesus (Noah Centineo) starts to put together the pieces about Emma (Amanda Leighton).”
The upcoming season finale will follow Callie as she is placed in a tight spot. She will need to decide whether to take a plea deal that will keep her in jail for three years or risk going on trial but receiving an even longer sentence.
According to Christian Post, Stef and Lena's eldest daughter will find that she is running out of hope and will need to make a decision fast despite her biological father’s best efforts. Although Robert (Kerr Smith) tried to help by hiring the best lawyers in the industry, it seems that Callie’s fate still lies in the hands of the justice system.
In the promo, Callie finally breaks down when she learns of her imminent jail time. When her mother tries to reassure her, she says, “I can’t go to jail. Everything is over.” By the end of the promo, it is hinted that Callie will go on desperate lengths to avoid being locked up.
Callie has been on this struggle for most of the season. Her determination in finding Mrs. Johnson’s real killer put her own life in danger. She even lost her boyfriend AJ (Tom Williamson) because of her preoccupation with the case.
‘The Fosters’ season 4’s episode 20, titled “Until Tomorrow,” is scheduled to air on Freeform on April 11, 2017. It was directed by Peter Paige and written by Paige and Bradley Bredeweg.
