“The 100” Season 6 will be establishing a new storyline for the show’s protagonists as a massive time jump has been employed in the fifth installment’s finale. What’s more, the heroes that fans have come to love will be exploring a new planet that they find themselves in.
And speaking of the jaw-dropping finale, showrunner Jason Rothenberg provided an explanation as to why he chose to end it the way he did. Apparently, the main reason for it was due to them not getting a word regarding the official order of “The 100” Season 6. As such, Rothenberg wrote the finale as if it was going to be the last for the series, which proved popular among critics and fans alike. But it wasn’t just the audiences who got hit by the massive emotional twist. Rothenberg said that the cast and crew were also bawling their eyes out when Christopher Larkin was delivering his lines, TVLine reported.
“Dean White, who did a fantastic job directing, knew that as soon as Chris [Larkin] started reading his lines, everyone would just burst into tears. So we had our first AD, Ian Samoil, read Monty’s part — and people were still crying. The camera guys were crying, I was crying, Dean was crying. It was crazy! You see it on camera where Bob and Eliza are just … the tears are pouring. I actually had to edit it down, because there was too much crying,” the showrunner shared. As for what will happen in “The 100” Season 6, one of its major plotlines will revolve around Jordan (Shannon Kook).
The survivors who will wake up in their cryo-sleep will interact with him in various ways. Bellamy (Bob Morley) and Clarke (Eliza Taylor) will be protective of him, while Murphy (Richard Harmon) will try to lead him down a dark path. With a fresh new character and world ready to be explored, “The 100” Season 6 is looking like the series’ most interesting entry yet. As for when it will be released, CW has announced it will premiere on April 30, with the installment’s finale likely dropping around August, TV Guide reported.
