Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast is celebrating its 20th anniversary with exciting new treats, including the return of Baja Blast gelato, exclusive freebies, and special offers. On July 29, customers can enjoy a free medium Baja Blast drink or Freeze.
Taco Bell Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Baja Blast with Free Drinks, Exclusive Deals, and Special Releases
Taco Bell's iconic Mountain Dew Baja Blast is celebrating its 20th anniversary, also known as the "Bajaversary," this year. Released in 2004 as a collaboration between Taco Bell and Pepsi, the beverage was strategically designed to complement Taco Bell's menu and offered as a unique, exclusive item. Celebrations for the drink's milestone began earlier this year with the nationwide release of Baja Blast soda cans and bottles in stores like Target and Walmart.
According to information shared with Mashed, the celebration continues on July 29. Customers can order in person or through the Taco Bell app for one day to receive a free medium Baja Blast fountain drink or a regular-sized Baja Blast Freeze.
Additionally, Taco Bell Rewards members can enjoy Baja Blast Tuesday Drops, offering special deals and offers. On August 13, Taco Bell will release a limited-edition Stanley x Bajaversary tumbler. The first 20 Rewards members who secure one through the app will win free Baja Blast drinks for a year.
Taco Bell Brings Back Baja Blast Gelato and Launches $1 Happier Hour for 2024 Celebrations
As announced at the Live Más LIVE event earlier this year, one of Taco Bell's significant changes for 2024 is the return of Baja Blast gelato. This exclusive treat, initially released in 2023 at a single location in Irvine, California, the $2.99 gelato in a 3.6-ounce to-go container sold out its two-week supply in just three days.
Starting September 3, Baja Blast gelato will be available exclusively to Taco Bell Rewards members through the app, making you part of a select group of Baja Blast enthusiasts. Interestingly, a TikTok hack combining Baja Blast with McDonald's soft serve resulted in a creamy creation reminiscent of the gelato even before its initial release.
Taco Bell will also introduce a $1 Happier Hour every day from 2 to 5 p.m. from July 29 through the end of 2024, offering a medium Baja Blast fountain drink or a regular-sized Baja Blast Freeze for just $1. Customers dining in-store can enjoy year-round free refills.
In its email to Mashed, Taco Bell also hinted at a surprise for the Bajaversary celebrations- a Baja Blast pie set to be released later this year, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the celebrations.
