“Supernatural” season 14 will be special as it was revealed by showrunner Andrew Dabb that they have found a way to incorporate "Wayward Sisters” into the series. It can be recalled that The CW did not take on the “Supernatural” spinoff for a TV premiere so this development is really good news to fans.
Via Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Dabb shared that they were able to figure out a way for all the “Wayward Sisters” to be in “Supernatural” season 14.
“All of the characters are going to make their return one way or the other. We have found a way to fold them organically into the plot line,” he said.
Moreover, the prospect for the “Wayward Sisters” spinoff has evaporated but fans will be happy to know that they are set to appear in many episodes of the American dark fantasy series. Their appearance in multiple episodes will surely compensate for the disappointments when The CW canceled the Wayward project. “It all folds together pretty well, but they’ll definitely be in multiple episodes this season,” Dabb relayed.
In May, The CW president Mark Pedowitz explained why the “Wayward Sisters” project did not push through. “We are big fans of the characters and the women who played those characters, we hope they continue on as guest stars on Supernatural,” TV Line quoted him as saying. “But we did not feel creatively that the show was where we wanted it to be. And we felt we had a better shot with ‘Legacies.’”
At any rate, the “Wayward Sisters” cast, which includes Kim Rhodes (Sheriff Jody Mills), Briana Buckmaster (Sheriff Donna Hanscum), Kathryn Newton (Claire Novak), Katherine Ramdeen (Alex Jones), Clark Backo (Patience Tuner) and Yadira Guevara Prip (Kaia Nieves), will all be in “Supernatural” when it premieres for its 14th season.
But while it was confirmed that the Wayward Sisters are coming back, it was not mentioned at what point or in which episode they will enter in “Supernatural” season 14. It is also not clear if they will appear all at once or their characters are going to pop up one at a time.
“Supernatural” season 14 is set to premiere on Oct. 11 on The CW.
