‘Stranger Things’ lead actress Millie Bobby Brown confirmed that her character Eleven will be returning for Season 2. She was photographed alongside fellow cast mates during the first table read for the incoming season. Meanwhile, Charlie Heaton teased more details saying that season 2 covers a bigger scope.

According to Variety, Brown is set to reprise her role as fan-favorite Eleven as seen in a newly released photograph of season 2’s cast. The young actress was first introduced in season 1 as the mysterious, Eggo-loving young girl with psychokinetic abilities. Although she has a limited vocabulary, she manages to befriend Mike, Dustin, and Lucas as they search for their lost friend Will.

Eleven was last seen in the season 1 finale disappearing together with the defeated “Demogorgon”. The character’s return was hinted in the final scenes with Jim leaving Eggo waffles in the forest.

The new cast photograph, which was turned upside down in reference to the parallel world called the “Upside Down”, also featured Brown’s young co-stars Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), and Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler). Missing in the photograph are returning adult stars Winona Ryder and David Harbour, who play Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper, respectively.

The table read also featured new cast members Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink, who are set to play siblings Billy and Max, respectively. The Twitter photograph was captioned, “back in production see you next year #strangerthings,” also upside down.

According to Time Out, Brown also posted the same image on her personal Twitter account confirming her character’s return. It was captioned, “It's official! #011 is back for Season 2 of @Stranger_Things! Thanks so much to the amazing #DufferBros for bringing El back!”

Production for season 2 is already in full force but an official release date is yet to be announced. It was speculated that the series is expected to return to Netflix sometime in 2017.

Meanwhile, Heaton teased that the incoming season will be darker than its predecessor during an interview with ET. The 22-year old English actor best known for playing the quiet outcast Jonathan revealed, "You follow these characters a year later, and you're straight back in the world of Hawkins, [Indiana], which we know and love so well… The scope feels bigger this year."

He added, "From episode one through four, it's gonna be a ride." Season 2 will be set a year after the events of season 1, specifically in the year 1982.

Heaton explained the time jump saying, "I think they wanted to let things settle, but also there are kids in the show -- the actors also have grown in a year... So, we couldn't have followed straight on… I don’t think you're gonna notice… Even though it's a year, you're falling straight back into where we left off, in a sense."

‘Stranger Things’ season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2017. The science-fiction and horror web television series was created and executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer. Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen also serve as executive producers.
