Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo collaborated with Takemiya Kiln to release a mug and an incense burner in glazed brown-black color inspired by the evening cherry blossoms along the Nakameguro River.
Both items feature the shodai ware pottery style originating from Kumamoto Prefecture in Kyushu.
The 355 ml mug is priced at ¥6,820 and is indented with dimples made as a result of the artist carefully pressing them down individually with his fingers.
There are also traces on the surface of the potter's wheel for a more personal touch.
Meanwhile, the ¥17,000 incense burner, the first of its kind to be sold at Starbucks, has cherry blossom petals carved onto it that light up once you place a candle inside.
