Song Joong Ki is starring in a new movie called “Space Sweepers.” This is South Korea’s very first sci-fi movie that can rival those Hollywood flicks and many fans are already excited for it especially after the teasers were released.

Change of press conference details for Joong Ki’s movie

The premiere of Song Joong Ki’s movie is just around the corner so a press conference has been scheduled. However, Korea’s News Inside reported that at the last minute, the producers had to make some changes with regards to the event’s venue.

It was stated that the conference was originally set to be held at the CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall on Aug. 18 but the venue was suddenly changed to an online platform. The reason has been explained by the “Space Sweepers” team.

"Due to the report of the upgraded social distancing to level 2 to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is inevitable to change the press conference to an online conference,” they said via statement. “We ask for your understanding regarding any inconvenience we have caused through the sudden change.”

The movie premiere and other details

“Space Sweepers” will be Song Joong Ki’s first project after making his comeback last year through the “Arthdal Chronicles” drama series. This was already predicted to be a blockbuster film that is very fit for international release.

As per Allkpop, Song Joong Ki finished filming this movie before 2019 ended. It is about a group of space scavengers who collect “thrash” outside of Earth to earn money. They do their work by traversing the galaxy aboard their spacecraft called Victory.

It also stars Kim Tae Ri, 2 PM’s Ok Taecyeon, Yoo Hae Jin and Jin Sun Kyu. Support cast members include the English actor Richard Armitage who appeared in “The Hobbit” movie series. It is a suspense sci-fi movie where Song Joong Ki and his crew collected a robot that brought them trouble although it cost a lot if sold.

Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki’s “Space Sweepers” is set to be out in cinemas on Sept. 23. There is no update with regards to any delay in the release so it can be assumed that there is no changes in the date.
