‘Scream’ season 2, episode 9 will follow Emma and Audrey as they get closer to finding out about the killer’s motives in hunting them. Meanwhile, Ms. Lang is revealed to have gone to the same school as Piper in the past.
The synopsis posted on Carter Matt stated, “Emma and Audrey learn why the killer is targeting them; Noah loses something dear to him; and missing evidence is found.”
The promo opened to Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) confronting Noah (John Karna) about a recent recording sent to Emma (Willa Fitzgerald). Audrey demands, “Why did you record our conversation?” Noah insists that it was an accident but Audrey doesn’t seem too convinced. Another scene shows a cassette tape dangling in Emma’s locker.
In the preceding episode, entitled “Village of the Damned”, Audrey tried confessing to Emma about her involvement in bringing Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) into Lakewood but her hesitation led to Emma finding out about her anyway. Things seem to be looking bleak between the two friends.
However, new developments may finally lead Emma and Audrey close to their killer specifically since they will learn about his or her motives behind the attacks. An article on International Business Times suggested that the girls’ psychology teacher Ms. Lang (Austin Highsmith) may be behind the murders.
Kristin Lang, although a confidante to her students, has been acting suspicious all season. She was secretly keeping tabs on her students by recording their conversations and storing confidential files. In the promo, it was revealed that Kristin knew Piper all along since the two attended the same school together in their earlier years.
‘Scream’ is a slasher-horror television series based on the franchise of the same name created by Kevin Williamson. The series premiered on MTV on June 2015 and was renewed for a second season on July 2015. Season 2’s episode 9, entitled “The Orphanage”, is scheduled to air on MTV on July 26, 2016.
The episode’s title pays homage to Juan Antonio Bayona’s acclaimed horror film of the same name released in 2007.
