Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 prototype suggests a notable design evolution with a larger, more expansive display, aiming to set a new standard for foldable technology. As the device's official release approaches, leaked images hint at significant enhancements, promising an improved user experience. The anticipation grows for its July unveiling, alongside updates on 5.5G support for Vivo and Xiaomi devices, marking a significant step forward in mobile connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Early Prototype Hints at Future Design Directions, Launch Set for July
The prototype was photographed and shared on Twitter, and while it is still in its early stages, it provides us with an idea of what to expect. Given that this is a prototype, I suggest you take it with a grain of salt, as Samsung may change this.
According to Wccftech, for those waiting for the event, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and all the other devices will be unveiled in July. There are rumors of a premium and affordable device variant, but tipsters are still determining if Samsung will go that route. The phone will already be expensive, and I'm still determining how much more the Ultra variant will cost.
According to previous reports, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy will include upgraded cameras, 25W charging speed, and a titanium frame. If that changes, it notify you of Samsung's plans.
5.5G Network Expansion: Vivo, Xiaomi, and iQOO Gear Up for Next-Gen Connectivity
According to a source, the Oppo Find X7 series is one of many devices on the market that received the latest 5.5G network upgrade. More companies have decided to enter the fray, beginning with Vivo, which announced that the Vivo X-Fold 3 and Vivo X100 series will soon support 5.5G. This support will be made available through an OTA update. In addition to Vivo, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is getting the latest speed upgrade.
In addition to Vivo and Xiaomi devices, the iQOO 12 series and iQOO Neo 9 series will receive the 5.5G network upgrade, possibly via an OTA update. So, that covers many Chinese devices that will receive the update. There is no word on when the international devices will get the 5.5G speed bump. Still, considering how existing devices in China are already getting the update, this might also become a reality in other regions.
China Mobile is still looking to expand 5.5G. The coverage is currently limited, but according to the information sources have received, it will be available in more than 300 cities by the end of the year. It will deliver better performance and coverage by then, and more devices will support the latest standard.
The mobile telecommunications company has stated that 5.5G will be available in major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou by the end of the year. It's also worth noting that, as of this writing, China Mobile is the only carrier that supports the latest upgrade. While expecting other carriers to join is safe, it will take some time.
Although it may not appear to be a significant improvement, 5.5G provides faster download and upload speeds. It is a stepping stone to 6G, but this network will be in place until that happens. Consider it an LTE to 4G upgrade, but it still provides a significant performance boost.
