‘Salem’ season 3’s episode 7, titled “The Man Who Was Thursday,” will follow Mary as she hatches a bold new move that threatens to test loyalties.
The brief synopsis for “The Man Who Was Thursday” posted on TV Guide reads, “A dangerous move by Mary (Janet Montgomery) leads to loyalties being tested.” Only four episodes remain for season 3 of WGN America’s supernatural fiction drama television series starring Janet Montgomery as the main protagonist Mary Sibley.
Mary is considered as Salem’s most powerful witch, who controls the infamous Witch Trials and forced to complete the Grand Rite. She became a witch after she sacrificed her unborn child to the devil in exchange for powers.
In the incoming episode, Mary is set to test some loyalties in a bold new plan. The trailer opens to Mary telling her followers that they have less than 24 hours to save their town. It seems that Mary and John Alden (Shane West) will join forces with Isaac (Iddo Goldberg), Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel) and Sebastian Marburg (Joe Doyle) in order to stop their son, the devil, from burning Salem to the ground.
A lengthier synopsis posted on Dread Central reads, “Anne (Tamzin Merchant) tells Cotton the great news of her pregnancy but is forced to partake in an unthinkable action that will wipe Gloriana (Azure Parsons) of her memories.
While Alden prepares to kill the Sentinel (Samuel Roukin), Mary continues to trick Sebastian into thinking she loves him. Completely “under her spell,” Sebastian tells her that he will find a way to destroy the Boy (Oliver Bell) once and for all where an epic plan of twists and turns unravels and true loyalties surface.”
‘Salem’ season 3’s episode 7, titled “The Man Who Was Thursday,” is scheduled to air on WGN America on January 4, 2017. It was directed by Jennifer Lynch and written by Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders. It will be followed by episode 8, titled "Friday's Knights," scheduled for January 11.
