The official release date of “Rick and Morty” season 4 is still elusive. On a good note, however, creators of the animated series have previously given some clues that familiar characters and objects from the earlier seasons might return. But are fan-favorites Mr. Poopybutthole and Meeseeks also slated for a cameo?
As for Mr. Poopytbutthole, there is no clear indication yet on whether or not he will have more appearances in “Rick and Morty” season 4. It is not impossible to happen, though, considering he is alive and has been recovering well since Beth almost killed him.
In fact, Mr. Poopybutthole appeared several times since being shot by Beth. He has been in a couple of post-credit scenes. He was even the very first one to announce that “Rick and Morty” season 4 will not premiere for a long time since the finale of season 3.
It can be recalled that Beth suspected Mr. Poopybutthole was just a parasite that creates fake memories because the entire Smith family can only remember good times with him. But it turns out, Mr. Poopybutthole was not that kind of parasite. However, there are still many mysteries and theories surrounding the character that might permit his reunion with the titular protagonists.
Another very memorable recurring character in the series is Mr. Meeseeks. It can be recalled that these blue humanoids are not meant to live the conventional way. Each of them has a single purpose that they should serve or else they will continue to exist and Mr. Meeseeks made clear before, to them, “Existence is pain.” However, the character has had cameos in seasons 2 and 3 that make fans hope for another appearance in “Rick and Morty” season 4.
Meanwhile, a recent social media post from series co-creator Justin Roiland sparked speculations that Morty’s former pet dog, Snuffles a.k.a. Snowball, might return. Roiland shared a photo of his pets that look like the inspirations of Snuffles while reassuring fans that “Rick and Morty” season 4 “is happening” and “it’s amazing.”
However, no specific premiere schedule or even a release date window was announced yet. But there are speculations that “Rick and Morty” season 4 could go on air in 2019.
