Procter & Gamble recently signed a deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and it is for a partnership for humanitarian works. Based on the reports, they will be working with the company “to build more compassionate communities.”
The Daily Mail reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously announced that their Archwell Foundation signed a partnership deal with Procter & Gamble, a company that also manufactures cosmetic products including skin whitening creams and the likes.

Then again, the team-up between the American multinational consumer goods firm headquartered in Ohio was not well-received. Despite the good intention of the partnership, it became a controversial topic as people started pointing out that Procter & Gamble makes “racist” skin whitening products and yet, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still chose to have a deal with them.
It was reported that their campaigns were organized to stop P&G from manufacturing and selling such products because these only fuels the “toxic belief” that a person's worth is measured by his or her skin color. Often, it was assumed that light skin is better than dark skin tone.
Thus, the campaigners want P&G and other companies to stop selling skin-lightening creams, lotions and more. Now, the reason why people are calling for Prince Harry and Meghan to get rid of their deal with the company was because the latter talks about issues of racism but they are working with a company that produces such “racist” cosmetic products.

A former executive at P&G, Alex Malouf, said that the royals will come under pressure to say if they support the sale of skin whitening creams. “Meghan has talked a lot about the issue of race and racism, so this does stick out like a sore thumb,' he added.
Finally, Fox Business further reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing a backlash as the public was furious as they can’t scrap the deal with Procter & Gamble. They said that they have always said they are advocates of anti-racism but still landed a deal with the maker of skin-lightening creams. The couple has yet to respond to the criticisms.
