It would appear that “Prison Break” Season 6 is now nothing more than a cash grab for Fox after getting rid of many of its most successful shows. At least, this is what many fans have been accusing the network of, starting with the series’ fifth season. A lot of it had to do with the fact that many of the things that should make the six season work don’t really make a lot of sense.
The show’s revival being a mistake was even brought up because of how it basically ruined what the show was all about, TVOverMind recently noted. With “Prison Break” Season 6 already in production, it’s worth looking back to the reason of why it should never have been revived, in the first place.
To start with, there is the matter of Michael (Wentworth Miller) supposedly dying in season 4, only to be brought back in season 5 alive and well. This never really got the satisfactory explanation that it was supposed to provide. As a result, the season got a general review that did not paint a good picture. Then there was the matter of the Company supposedly killing Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), which will have serious implications for “Prison Break” Season 6.
Not the character dying part, but rather, the character not turning out dead after all. The showrunners basically came up with an elaborate scenario that was more than a little ridiculous. This then brings up some serious questions about the possible quality of “Prison Break” Season 6. That is to say, that it won’t be worth watching.
With the show having already gotten a bad start with its revival, it will be very difficult to shake off this funk in time to make “Prison Break” Season 6 a worthy series to watch. This goes double if the show actually comes back this year.
