The full raid has begun in Onisgashima and Kaido is also fighting on the ground. The Minks have transformed into their Sulong forms as the full moon shines overhead in “One Piece” chapter 989.
Everyone is in their full fighting stance and the fight is expected to last a bit longer. This is due to the fact that major characters are emerging and joining the battle to help their respective sides.

In the previous “One Piece” chapter 988, the Minks are shown facing off with Kaido. This story has been titled “Sorry for the Wait” and there were many battles that are really surprising because of how they were all matched up.
Starting from the Minks vs. Kaido to the Straw Hat Pirates against Big Mom, the fights in this Onigashima raid were interesting. Neko also chose to fight Jack, one of Kaido’s right-hand men.
Also, amid the chaos, Momonosuke was able to escape and Shinobu played a role for his freedom. However, both Momo and Shinobu were put in danger and it was Sanji who came to rescue them from King and Queen.
Elsewhere in “One Piece” chapter 988, Big Mom was seething in anger after seeing Luffy because he already ruined many events that she was looking forward to attend and have fun in such as parties. Now Luffy did it again and destroyed the feast in Onigashima.
In the midst of the chaos, riding their Freedom Rider, Brook and Franky accidentally ran over Big Mom and as a result, she laid flat on the ground. It is yet to see what will happen to her in the upcoming “One Piece” chapter 989.

As posted on Reddit’s spoilers page for “One Piece” chapter 989, there is a possibility that Big Mom may lose her memories again once she gets up. If this happens, it will be a big advantage to the Straw Hats because they can ask her for help and be their ally to defeat Kaido.
Jinbe and Robin will fight together. On the other hand, Luffy will attempt to go up for Kaido but King and Queen will stop him. “One Piece” chapter 989 will end with most of their opponents down and the Straw Hat Pirates remained standing tall together.
Luffy is still expected to face Kaido and Big Mom. By this time, Kaido may have also gotten weaker already after fighting with the Minks.
Release Date
“One Piece” chapter 989 was delayed due to Eiichiro Oda’s health issues but it will return this week. As per Omnitos, this will be released on Sept. 6.
