“Kabukichou Sherlock” episode 18 will present another case, and while Sherlock, Watson, and Moriarty solve a new case, other secrets are coming to the surface, and it is shocking. This episode will continue from the time James Moran was freed from jail, and he is back with the gang.
The young detective immediately got into action and started solving mysteries together with Sherlock and Watson again. It seems that the mystery about the prisoners from the Tokyo 7th Prison is not yet over as another prisoner who escaped committed a crime and then killed himself.
Plot and official synopsis
In “Kabukichou Sherlock” episode 18 titled “Love of Animals,” they received a request to solve the animal killings in Kabukicho zoo. Interestingly, the animals were poisoned by an outsider. The animals killed were pheasant, a wolf, and a bear, and these are the animals used a theme in the band called the Momoteros.
“Kabukichou Sherlock” episode 18’s synopsis reads: “An investigation into an animal killer escalates into a dire dilemma.” As usual, they were able to solve the case after finding out that three fans are pretending to be the band members because they want to kill the detectives who sent their idols in prison while pheasant died, and they are accusing the hero detectives of his death.
Suspicions on Moriarty
“Kabukichou Sherlock” episode 18 ended with Moriarty facing the three fans who were all girls. He told them to “Let’s end this,” and after saying their names, the ladies set themselves on fire. This is a strange event because, in the last episode, the escapee prisoners also killed themselves after Moriarty uttered their names after being caught.
As posted on Reddit, this is a big hint that something is being developed in “Kabukichou Sherlock,” and probably this is James Moran’s transformation or big reveal about his true self. Perhaps, he is not a gentle lad that everyone knows him to be.
This could be Moriarty's “fall from grace,” and he will eventually become Sherlock’s rival. Fans are predicting; he will soon have that maniacal grin on his face just like the other villains as his twisted side is revealed. And there is a theory that this side of James is the reason why his father wants him dead.
“Kabukichou Sherlock” episode 18 is set to be released on Feb. 22, as per IMDb.
