At The Game Awards 2015, Oculus VR co-founder Palmer Luckey will be making a special announcement, Geoff Keighley tweeted today. The event is produced and hosted by Keighley and will have its second-ever show aired live on multiple consoles and streaming services on Thursday, December 3 at 9pm EST, TechRadar reported.
Luckey also tweeted about the “really cool” announcement but said that it would not be regarding the opening of preorders for their much-awaited Oculus Rift. According to the official website, the headset is scheduled to launch during first quarter of 2016, however, a precise date hasn’t been revealed yet.
A video offering a glimpse of The Game Awards 2015 says that besides the Oculus announcement, the event will have performances from CHVRCHES and deadmau5, along with world premiers of Farcry Primal, Quantum Break, Mortal Kombat X and much more.
TechRadar speculates that the announcement may include “new titles receiving Rift compatibility, support for the headset on new platforms, or even just how much one can expect to pay when it finally hits shelves.”
