“NCIS” season 16 episode 12 is shaping up to be an installment focused on Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) life as he goes on a road trip with an old family friend. While he is gone, the team will be facing a predicament after losing a witness under their protection.
Gibbs’ life has been a rich source of stories through the show’s 16 seasons. And fans could be learning more about the main protagonist with the arrival of a new guest star Dabney Coleman, playing the role of Army Corporal John Sydney, in “NCIS” season 16 episode 12.
According to the “NCIS” season 16 episode 12 synopsis (via CarterMatt), John will seek Gibbs’ help in finding a “missing military I.D. bracelet.” The teaser does not say where they would begin their search but it is most likely an out-of-state journey as it is confirmed the duo will be hitting the road.
Though the significance of the said bracelet is kept under wraps, it is safe to assume that Gibbs’ sees enough value to it that he agrees to leave the Navy Yard and help a family friend. Every time someone connected to Gibbs’ past is introduced in the show, it has always been a heartfelt installment further developing his character. “NCIS” season 16 episode 12 will possibly go down to the same category.
Meanwhile, the work back at the office will not stop with Gibbs gone. “NCIS” season 16 episode 12 will also revolve around an investigation involving a Navy Lieutenant who might be serving as a witness and is placed under NCIS protective custody.
Unfortunately, there will be apparent lapses in the security detail in the “NCIS” season 16 episode 12, airing on Tuesday, Jan. 15, as the Navy Lieutenant dies. An “infamous drug dealer” who is likely the subject of their investigation manages to poison the said witness under the noses of the NCIS agents.
Viewers will have to watch the episode on Jan. 8 (episode 11), titled “Toil and Trouble,” to see if Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and McGee (Sean Murray) will be back to work in “NCIS” season 16 episode 12. In the show’s 2019 premiere this week, the team will be butting heads with no less than the United States Secretary of Defense Wynn Crawford (Mitch Pileggi) who will then fire the said agents. New episodes arrive every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
