Melania Trump’s viral photo with Justin Trudeau recently made headlines again after the FLOTUS seemingly rejected Donald Trump’s kiss on her lips.
After his impeachment was acquitted, the POTUS thanked his whole family for their support. Before leaving one of the rooms at the White House, Trump called Melania and tried to give him a sweet kiss. However, the FLOTUS turned her cheek at her husband.
But last year, Melania seemed delighted when she and Trudeau kissed each other’s cheek. In fact, their photo even showed the first lady smiling, which is quite a rare sight.
What made Melania and Trudeau’s photo even more controversial is the fact that Trump is standing just a few inches away from his wife at that time. He has a glum look on his face, and his head is even bowed down.
Some netizens interpreted this moment as Trump feeling jealous of how affectionate the first lady was to the Canadian prime minister. On Twitter, some netizens made a big fuss over the photo.
“Do you suppose Melania ever smiles like that at Donald? Greets him with a warm smile and a kiss like she greets Trudeau? We’ve never seen her do anything remotely like this for Donnie. We did see her slap his hand away a few times. And who could forget her inauguration day face?” Twitter user @MotherSquid said.
Some netizens also speculated on the possibility of the first lady having a crush on Trudeau.
“You’re probably not even respected by everyone in your bedroom. Melania is probably dreaming about Justin Trudeau,” Twitter user @dudestir127 said.
“I’m going with a sham marriage. The pictures of Melania greeting PM Justin Trudeau shows she still got a life to live. I never see pictures of her with DJT looking that way. Just saying,” Twitter user @Stornoway_Cove said.
“Why does Melania treat you like dirt in public but happily kiss Justin Trudeau?” Twitter user @JbarGarden said.
“It has that whole Melania looks at Justin Trudeau vibe about it,” Twitter user @jjjove said.
