The Trump family is constantly under scrutiny and understandably so, due to the remarks that President Donald Trump often makes on social media. Due to the recent events regarding his comments on climate change activist Greta Thunberg, Melania has finally addressed this event.
It is no surprise that Donald Trump is once again, under fire by everyone on the internet, due to his comments. This time, people are calling him out for reportedly bullying 16-year old Thunberg, who, apart from leading the climate change protests, took to the United Nations Climate Summit back in September to call out the politicians. Trump took to Twitter, quoting the tweet showing a video of the activist, saying “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”
However, people were angered by his condescending remarks and then turned to call out Melania to speak up and take action on behalf of her anti-bullying campaign #BeBest. Some criticized her as well, for staying silent despite her husband doing the very thing her campaign is against. Melania had already called out on people involving her son Barron Trump during the impeachment inquiry news, which the public turned back to her this time.
Thunberg was recently named person of the year for Time Magazine, beating out Donald, who, unsurprisingly, acted the opposite of being a good sport.
Recently, the First Lady decided to speak up, through the press release shared by CNN reporter Kate Bennett from the White House Press Secretary. Bennett shared the statement on Twitter. “BeBest is the First Lady’s initiative, and she will continue to use it to do all she can to help children,” began the statement, which went on to say that both Melania and Donald communicate differently “as most married couples do.”
However, it does not stop there, as Thunberg will be having a documentary shown on Hulu in 2020. The documentary will show how she became one of the most influential people in the world today, leading climate change protests and giving speeches at the United Nations events. It will be produced by Cecilia Nessen and Frederik Heinig and will be directed by Nathan Grossman. This will no doubt, get the Trumps to continue the online feud.
