McDonald's Canada is offering big rewards to its customers through the restaurant's MyMcDonald's Rewards program. The Canadian unit of the American fast-food chain wants to express its gratefulness to loyal customers, and it is giving them the recognition they deserve by giving out a total of 50 million rewards points via the company's app.
McDonald's Canada marked Dec. 7 as APPreciation Day, and customers can begin earning rewards points through their MyMcDonald's Rewards accounts. To kick off the event, the company is hosting a one-day contest that will be carried out on social media.
The game will take place on McDonald's Canada's Instagram and Twitter official pages. Customers can win a million rewards points, and the fast-food chain is picking 50 lucky individuals to take home the rewards.
All that customers have to do is follow McDonald's Canada's Instagram account and comment using the hashtag - #MyMcDsRewardsContest. On Twitter, the rule is the same, but one can either comment or simply retweet the contest post with the mentioned hashtag.
"Canadian McDonald's guests are some of the most loyal in the world," McDonald's Canada's senior director, marketing planning and digital marketing strategy, Francesca Cardarelli, said in a press release. "We created APPreciation Day as a show of gratitude for the incredible love our guests show for the brand every day, and of course, to give them a chance to win even more MyMcDonald's Rewards points to redeem their favorite McDonald's items."
Then again, it should be noted that the contest is only open at participating restaurants in Canada. Moreover, the contest requires eligible purchases to be able to join. Customers can check out the terms for the MyMcDsRewards contest at mcdonalds.ca/myrewardsterms before joining.
It was mentioned that downloading the McDonald's Canada app is required, and the customer must also register. Anyone who will participate in the contest should also be first-time MyMcDonald's Rewards users only, and the offer is limited to one slot per customer.
The MyMcDonald's Rewards is said to be the restaurant's very first points-based customer rewards program in Canada. All members earn 100 points for every $1 they spend on the store.
