The season finale in “Legacies” Episode 16 left a lot of questions unanswered and a huge mess that needs to be cleaned up. There is the matter of Hope (Danielle Rose Russel) diving into the Malivore in order to save everyone, to start with, and what the implications of this will be for “Legacies” Season 2. Without the lead, how on earth will the series continue without losing a majority of its fans?
Speaking to TV Line, show creator Julie Plec talks about what happened in “Legacies” Episode 16 and what it could then mean for the future of the series. Just for a quick recap, the finale basically involved an all-out fight in the Salvatore School, Josie (Kaylee Bryant) getting shot, and Rafael (Peyton Smith) getting stuck as a wolf.
There were plenty of events in “Legacies” Episode 16 that could have a severe impact on what season 2 could be about, but none more than Hope sacrificing herself. As a result, everyone who knew her will have their memories wiped of all details about the girl. To remember her would be to make her sacrifice pointless. Fortunately, it seems she’s not really dead.
“In her mind, jumping into the pit would destroy Malivore. And it appears that Malivore — at least in its physical mud-pit form — is gone,” Plec said on the matter. “So where the hell is she, and why can’t anyone remember her? The fact that no one can remember her probably means she’s in that blackness, which the monsters described as being this terrible place.”
Suffice it to say, the events in “Legacies” Episode 16 left a lot of questions that need answers and problems that will need to be solved. Although “Legacies” Season 2 has already been confirmed, there has yet to be news on exactly when it will come out. As a result, fans will simply have to wait a little longer.
