There is a new rumor about Jennifer Aniston but this time, it is not about divorce or her ex-husbands. It was reported that she was chosen to be Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s child’s godmother and she agreed.
Jen was chosen to be a godmother
As per the story that appeared on New Idea’s pages, Jennifer Aniston will be Katy Perry’s first child’s godmother and she was happy to accept the invitation from the singer and her actor husband. It was alleged that the “Friends” star immediately took the unborn baby “under her wing.”
UK’s Mirror, the original source of the news, reported that Aniston and Perry are good friends. It was also alleged that both Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom wept when they asked Brad Pitt’s wife to be a godmother to their child.
"Katy and Jen are very close,” the so-called source told the magazine. “During the lockdown, they went for socially-distanced walks, and spent lots of time catching up."
What’s more, it’s not just the soon-to-be-married couple who supposedly cried but even Jennifer Aniston also wept as per the unnamed source. The actress was emotional too because she was overwhelmed and felt honored.
“She is pretty chuffed about it as well and cried when they asked her,” the tipster alleged.
Katy Perry responded to rumors
It turned out that this rumor is false and Katy Perry personally refuted it herself. Not long ago, the “Con Calma” singer appeared on “Kyle and Jackie O” radio show and she was asked if it is true she chose Jennifer Aniston to be her daughter’s godmother.
In her interview with Kyle and Jacky O that was also shown in E! News, Perry said it is not true and explained further that she and Orlando have no idea where the rumor came from. The singer also shared that it is true that Jennifer Aniston sent them a text and it was not even about their child’s christening.
"She texted us because we are friendly with her and Orlando is one of her good friends, and we were like, 'Wow! this is a wild rumor,'" Katy narrated. "I mean, God knows, she's - you know, with her, she's had everything said about her. I guess this is a fun rumor but no, we have no idea where it came from.”
