Hyatt Regency Osaka will exit the Hyatt system on July 1, 2023, and be reflagged as Grand Prince Hotel.
Seibu Prince Hotels has purchased the hotel and will operate it from the handover date.
Consequently, World of Hyatt members are not eligible to earn points, elite qualifying nights, or receive elite benefits for stays after July 1, regardless of when they were booked.
Hyatt Regency Osaka stayed open the entire pandemic when many other hotels temporarily closed.
However, it is not a big loss to Hyatt because the hotel’s location is not deemed ideal for those visiting Osaka.
The new owner has several hotels under various Marriott brands. But there is yet no indication that the hotel would be under the Tribute Portfolio.
