‘Homeland’ season 6’s episode 5, titled “Casus Belli,” is set to feature Carrie as she deals with having her home life threatened as a consequence of her dangerous job. Meanwhile, Quinn gets dragged into the chaos prompted by Carrie’s recent actions.
The brief synopsis posted on Showtime states, “Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) gets sidelined. Carrie's (Claire Danes) work follows her home.” It hints at two storylines focused on Danes’ main protagonist as well as Marvel’s president-elect of the United States of America.
According to International Business Times, the upcoming episode will follow Carrie as she struggles with the reality that her work has begun to take its toll on her private life. The promo opens to Carrie receiving a phone call warning her that the city is in grave danger suggesting that these are the consequences of her recent actions.
The next scenes also shows Carrie’s home, with her daughter inside, getting attacked by an angry mob. This prompts Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) to retaliate by firing a gun outside to subdue the crowd gathering outside. The CIA operative and assassin will then find himself in a difficult position as a special task force is forced to storm the establishment.
Carrie is seen being dragged away against her will. She warns the authorities, “That man is a highly trained war fighter. If you enter the building, people will die. Did you hear me? My daughter is in there!” She then calls out to Quinn in the final scene.
The synopsis also hinted at Keane’s continuing struggles as the new president of the United States. Things as about to get complicated and she will find herself sidetracked from her actual tasks at hand. The preceding episode featured the growing tension between black ops specialist Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) and Carrie, who was tasked at advising president Keane in secret even before she won the elections.
‘Homeland’ season 6’s episode 5, titled “Casus Belli,” is scheduled to air on Showtime on February 19, 2017. It was directed by Alex Graves and written by Chip Johannessen. It will be followed by episode 6, titled "The Return," also directed by Graves and scheduled to be released on February 26.
