At the moment, Rockstar Games has not confirmed that it is working on the “GTA 6,” the sequel to its highly successful “Grand Theft Auto V” title. But fans of the franchise are pretty convinced that it’s only a matter of time given the success of the current game.
However, a recent job listing from Rockstar North, one of Rockstar Games’ studios, rekindled hopes among fans that perhaps “GTA 6” might already be on its way. The post was for a technical build engineer position that will be involved in “large-scale projects,” a phrase many believe could be an indirect reference to the highly-anticipated “Grand Theft Auto 6.”
“At Rockstar Games, we create the games we would want to play ourselves,” the job listing reads, according to Comicbook. “A career at Rockstar is about being part of a team working on some of the most creatively rewarding, large-scale projects to be found in any entertainment medium. You would be welcomed to a friendly, inclusive environment where you can learn, and collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry.”
While the listing did not specifically mention “GTA 6,” many believe that there is a good chance that it just might be referring to the still-unannounced title. The phrase “large-scale” suggests that the project could only mean one of Rockstar’s bigger franchises such as the “GTA,” according to Dexerto.
Comicbook also put forth the possibility that the listing could mean that “GTA 6” is already out of the pre-production stage and is now at the alpha stage. However, the publication also warned that the listing is a bit vague and can be interpreted in a number of ways.
It’s not only Comicbook that is considering the possibility that “GTA 6” might be at the testing phase of its development. In fact, some fans believe that the game might be almost finished by now and they need someone to finetune it before launch.
“Rockstar North has a new job opening for a Technical Build Engineer,” Twitter user @GTAVINR wrote. “We don't know if this is related to GTA 6 however this role is to test things like alphas and betas of games so perhaps they're almost finished creating the game.”
