GOT7 came back with new music to cap off their year with their album “ Breath of Love: Last Piece.” Following the speculations that would determine the members’ future activities, Jinyoung was reportedly in discussions about joining BH Entertainment.
A report by South Korea’s TVDaily revealed that Jinyoung had meetings with representatives of BH Entertainment to talk about a possible exclusive contract for the GOT7 member. The report also noted that Jinyoung was also meeting with other agencies but appeared to look into BH Entertainment more. The agency is known for its roster of prominent actors that include Park Bo Young, Lee Byung Hun, Han Ji Min, and Kim Go Eun. However, a source to the company stated that they are not aware of an exclusive contract with the singer. But they reportedly did not answer whether they met with Jinyoung.
Jinyoung’s current agency, JYP Entertainment, spoke to another news outlet, Sports Chosun, and confirmed that the group’s contract is set to expire next January. They added that they are also discussing with the group about their individual plans for the future. In a separate outlet, Xportsnews, JYPE said that they are meeting with Jinyoung to discuss his contract renewal plans, taking into consideration other factors.
The GOT7 member made his acting debut in 2012 in “Dream High 2” alongside his fellow member JB. In the same year, they former JJ Project and re-debuted as members of GOT7 in 2014. Jinyoung has since been maintaining his music and acting career, his most recent drama being “When Love Blooms.”
In November, the group talked about their comeback in an interview, with the title tracks “Last Piece” and “Breath.” Both songs were co-written and co-composed by JB and Youngjae respectively under their producer names DEFSOUL (JB) and Ars (Youngjae). JB talked about the reason why this newest release by the group was more meaningful, sharing that it was because all the members were involved in making the tracks in the album. JB also revealed how he was surprised that both songs were chosen as the title tracks.
Jinyoung also shared that they were a little more relaxed in preparations as they had a lot of time and revealed that the two music videos are interconnected.
