General Motors (GM) Korea steps up in the SUV segment by releasing a revamped Chevrolet Trailblazer, specifically designed for South Korea's discerning consumers. Since its 2020 debut, the Trailblazer has shown remarkable global success, selling over 620,000 units. The Korean variant of this robust model offers unique design options, larger interior spaces, and innovative engineering technologies, all tailored to various customer lifestyles.
Notably, the Trailblazer has been a top passenger car export for GM Korea in the first half of this year. The new model offers four trims, including the Rally Sport (RS) and Activ (active) variants. With dimensions of 442.5 cm in length, 167 cm in height, and 181 cm in width, the semi-midsize SUV boasts an extended wheelbase of 264 cm, resulting in an expanded interior space.
GM's smart engineering design technology emphasizes reinforced body parts that bear weight while optimizing lightweight elements. Furthermore, the new model boasts a 1.35-liter gas E-Turbo engine, incorporating GM's light sizing technology, delivering an impressive maximum horsepower of 156 and a torque of 24.1 kg-meter.
Regarding transmission options, the front-wheel drive version is equipped with a VT40 continuously variable transmission. In contrast, the four-wheel drive edition features a Hydra-Matic nine-speed automatic transmission. With these advancements, the Trailblazer achieves a commendable fuel efficiency of up to 12.9 km per liter.
The new Trailblazer also exhibits significant design updates. At the front, a newly installed dual-port grille showcases Chevrolet's signature design, complemented by sleeker upper LED daytime running lights and refreshed LED tail lights.
Unique design features characterize each trim variation of the Trailblazer. The RS edition exudes a sporty feel, while the Activ model evokes strong emotion. Inside, the driver-focused design takes precedence, a departure from the traditional dual cockpit motif associated with Chevrolet. The symmetrical dashboard, centered around the control console between the two seats, enhances the overall driver experience.
Additional notable features include an eight-inch (20 cm) instrument cluster directly facing the driver alongside a central 11-inch (28 cm) touchscreen, prioritizing accessibility and seamless interaction.
According to GM Korea President and CEO Roberto Rempel, the new Trailblazer represents Chevrolet's flagship SUV, offering balanced proportions, sophisticated design, and exceptional engineering capabilities.
