Many fans are hoping that “Food Wars” season 4 will premiere this year. And based on the anime series’ previous release dates, there is a good chance that it will happen.
The first 24 episodes of the series aired in April 2015 through September 2015. Season 2 premiered roughly 10 months later but only with 13 episodes. The Third Plate — that went back to with a 24-episode run — arrived after a little over a year. What does this cycle say about “Food Wars” season 4?
For one, it suggests that J. C. Staff, the studio producing the anime series, has been able to release one full season every year since 2015. This increases the chance of seeing “Food Wars” season 4 sometime in June or July 2019 that translates to a year-long hiatus since the 61st episode aired.
However, Monsters & Critics pointed out that the currently available manga chapters might only make up for a one-cour release. This means that “Food Wars” season 4 might only have 13 episodes just like season 2.
Meanwhile, it is important to note that the producers of the anime series have yet to make any official announcement about “Food Wars” season 4. But judging from the way the Third Plate ended, an all-new season is almost a certainty to properly close the Rebels vs. Central Régiment de Cuisine.
The Rebels dominated in the 1st bout winning the first three matches. But, as discussed in earlier reports from EconoTimes, their luck will dwindle in upcoming duels that will be featured in “Food Wars” season 4.
The Third Plate ended with an interesting conversation between Soma and Tsukasa where both characters promised to duel against each other. But fans will have to wait until the fifth or final bout to see it happening. Those who cannot wait for “Food Wars” season 4, they can read earlier manga chapters to see who wins between Soma and Tsukasa.
