Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, a key adviser to President Donald Trump, is set to meet with CIA Director John Ratcliffe on Monday to discuss government efficiency, according to a spokesperson. The visit comes as the Trump administration pushes forward with sweeping federal workforce cuts, which are being directed by Musk through his role at the Department of Government Efficiency.
The Central Intelligence Agency has recently dismissed a number of new hires as part of these reductions. Musk’s influence in reshaping federal operations has expanded under Trump’s directive to streamline government agencies.
Musk, who also serves as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was recently seen at the Department of Defense for a high-level meeting with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. His companies maintain several defense contracts, and the meeting is believed to have touched on operational collaborations.
The New York Times reported that Musk was briefed on classified military strategies related to China during his Defense Department visit. However, both Trump and Musk have strongly denied the claim. Musk called the report “pure propaganda” and called for legal action against those leaking sensitive information.
Adding to the media frenzy, a viral image captured Musk wearing a “Trump Was Right About Everything!” hat during a cabinet meeting at the White House on March 24, 2025. The photo has fueled further discussion about Musk’s deepening role in the Trump administration.
As Musk’s political and advisory presence continues to grow, his involvement in federal restructuring, national security, and defense policy is drawing both support and scrutiny. His unique position at the intersection of business, technology, and politics is reshaping Washington's power dynamics heading into the 2025 election cycle.
