President Donald Trump was elected President during the 2016 elections, the results of which became a hot topic due to the alleged interference by Russia as well as the Mueller report among many things. Three years later, and Trump goes on another rant regarding his immediate predecessor and the current FBI director.
Politicalflare reports that Trump took to Twitter to voice his rage towards the current director of the FBI Christopher Wray, who was not involved in the investigation towards him during the Impeachment process. Trump went on to rant in all caps, accusing the Democrats, whom he referred to as the “party in power” were illegally spying on his campaign.
“This is the biggest political crime in American History, by far. Simply put, the party in power illegally spied on my campaign, both before and after the election, in order to change or nullify the results of the election. It continued on with the impeachment hoax. Terrible!” Trump tweeted in all capital letters.
Contrary to what Trump tweeted regarding being illegally spied on, the only documents that were found were errors and omissions in preparation of affidavits for search warrants. It also bears noting that the warrants were also signed off by judges, thus making it a legal search warrant. Regarding his accusation of the Democrats and Obama spying on his electoral campaign when the report never mentioned Obama’s involvement. The report only confirmed that Russians were being investigated by the FBI and were also confirmed to have interfered with the election. As to the impeachment process that was started by what transpired during the Ukraine scandal, there is no connection between what happened there and with Russia as well.
Nevertheless, Trump appears to be doing staff cleaning in the White House, having recently fired EU ambassador Gordon Sondland and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who were also impeachment inquiry witnesses, and it does not look like he will be stopping any time soon. However, it bears wondering what the predominantly Republican Senate is doing to try and keep matters under control when it comes to Trump’s obvious display of rage.
But it does not stop with dismissing impeachment witnesses contrary to what a handful of Republican Senators had warned him. Trump also recently requested additional funds from Congress for the construction of the wall that was to be put up at the border between the United States and Mexico.
