Episode 13, Season 4 of popular cop series “Chicago PD” will put Jesse Lee Soffer’s character front and center. According to episode synopsis, Soffer’s Jay Halstead is sent by Voight (Jason Beghe) as an undercover guard for a treatment center for troubled girls. Halstead is expected to investigate at the center following the discovery of a dead 15 year-old, who is found crushed in an abandoned building. The girl is said to have ran away from the treatment building. Voight believes that the girls at the treatment center are trading sexual favors for something.
Soffer talked to The Hollywood Reporter about Halstead’s character development in the series. He said, “Jay's always been a confident cop. I think he's more confident in the unit like in standing up to Voight, speaking his mind, knowing that he's right in his convictions and how he approaches his job. That's been fun to play in these first couple of episodes so far.”
And with Halstead’s break in the case, we would be seeing more great things about him moving forward. He added, “Jay is much more comfortable now. The show has been going on for four years. Jay has been in the unit for four years. So now he's confident in standing up to Voight and going: 'You have your ways, I have my ways. I'm not always going to agree with you, you're not going to agree with me, but hopefully we'll get this done together.' He's very self-assured when it comes to speaking his mind about whether or not he thinks Voight is on the wrong side of the line or not.”
On the other hand, fans will be delighted about NBC’s major, three-over crossover event of the “Chicago” franchise, of which a story will be introduced in “Chicago Fire,” then continues in the March 1 episode of “Chicago PD,” then the series premiere of “Chicago Justice,” TV Guide reported.
