McDonald's USA is conducting an operations test of a new plant-based burger for a limited time at eight select restaurants across the US.
The McPlant includes a plant-based patty made from ingredients such as peas, rice, and potatoes and co-developed with Beyond Meat exclusively for McDonald’s.
The fast-food giant says the patty has the iconic taste of a McDonald’s burger.
The participating branches are located at Irving and Carrollton in Texas, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jennings, and Lake Charle in Louisiana, and El Segundo and Manhattan Beach in California.
The McPlant has also been introduced in various markets overseas this year, including the UK, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria.
