The Good Fortune Burger in Toronto came up with a quirky and creative idea of renaming all the items on their menu as office supplies to let customers charge their companies for food.'
Each burger on the limited-edition menu called #RECEATS has been renamed to capture that name on the invoice.
Their famous Fortune Burger, for example, was dubbed the Basic Steel Stapler, and their Parm Fries became the CPU Wireless Mouse. Other burgers and sides have also been converted to HDMI cables, wired earphones, silicone keyboard covers, and laptop stands. As a consequence, these invoices may be taken as genuine expenditures and charged to the employer.
The hilarious idea was a hit among foodies who just needed a reason to indulge in their favorite burgers.
However, some criticized the campaign, saying that they could not use this trick very often as the items mentioned on the menu were one-time purchases.
According to Jon Purdy, the Director of Operations at Good Fortune Burger, the campaign was intended to spread some cheer.
He said they just wanted an opportunity to put a smile on some people's faces and let them have a little bit of a giggle and that there's no malice intended in it as it's all just fun and games.
