Following the explosive finale of the show’s third season, “Better Call Saul” Season 4 Episode 2 will reveal some more details as to how Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) descends into darkness. As fans of “Breaking Bad” will already know, Jimmy eventually becomes Saul Goodman, hence the show’s name. In this upcoming episode, viewers will see the struggle that Jimmy puts up before giving in.
In the Season 4 premiere of the show, the present-day incarnation of Jimmy, Gene, was seen taken to the hospital. It was then that he was reminded of how fragile is new life was. Flashing back to his origins, the episode went through scenes of Jimmy learning about Chuck’s (Michael McKean) death, USA Today reports. Eventually, they concluded that it was suicide on his part. This subject will likely have a narrative impact on “Better Call Saul” Season 4 Episode 2 and beyond.
Coming to “Better Call Saul” Season 4 Episode 2, however, the promo clip of the episode shows a few scenes that provide hints on what fans can expect next week. The 30-second video shows quite a few scenes, but one of the most notable is what appears to be Jimmy’s job interview. The man holding his documents commented on his license getting revoked while Jimmy looked on in despair.
This might signify the struggle of the show’s main character to remain on the more legitimate side of doing business. Obviously, fans of “Breaking Bad” already know where Jimmy will eventually end up. Additional scenes in the “Better Call Saul” Season 4 Episode 2 promo even shows how he calls someone up while saying, “I think you’re really going to like this.” It seems he was looking at Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) while saying this.
Speaking of which, Gus’ business affairs in building his drug empire appears to have hit a snag when Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) suffers a stroke. “Better Call Saul” Season 4 Episode 2 might see the start of an escalation in this department, thus leading to a possible gang war. Viewers will have to wait until Monday, Aug. 13 to find out.
