''Avatar”, the world’s most successful film in history with $2.7 billion in box-office earnings worldwide and has held the top spot since the film was released in 2009 is finally going to have a sequel, and not only a sequel but a part 3 and 4 as well.
It is set to premiere on December 2017. Filming will start as scheduled early this year so that the film will be right on target for its December 2017 release date. Filming will not just be for “Avatar 2” but will be continuous for the next two films.
The films are said to be ''meta-narrative'', which means each story is independent of each other but forms part of bigger narration. With the filming all set to go, director James Cameron has announced that all the landscapes, characters, technical requirements, and computer generated graphics are now all ready and prepared. On the other hand, the script is still baking in the oven but Cameron assured that everything will all go well as planned.
With the success of the first film, it is with no doubt that the pressure is on as they need to earn more than the first film. Thus, Cameron and the team are doing all their best to top their first achievement and has been taking the challenge on a positive note.
He also added that there will be new species of aliens to be introduced in the next films. We will also get to see more of the beautiful view of Pandora and its inhabitants. And speaking of its inhabitants, we will get to see Neyteri and Jake Sulley again as Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington will reprise their roles.
Watch out for more updates and spoilers as we wait for the premiere of Avatar 2 this coming December 2017.
