‘Arrow’ season 5’s episode 11, titled “Second Chances,” is set to feature Oliver and Talia potentially teaming up in order to defeat Constantine Kovar.
The synopsis for “Second Chances” posted on TV Guide reads, “Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) agrees to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) take down Kovar (Dolph Lundgren), but her offer comes with a steep price.
Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) attempts to hack the NSA to help free Diggle (David Ramsey), but when her online efforts are flagged, she faces off against an unknown adversary; and Curtis (Echo Kellum) tells the team about a female vigilante, Tina Boland (Juliana Harkavy), he uncovered online who has been wreaking havoc all over the country.”
Doig’s Talia al Ghul appeared in the final moments of episode 10, titled “Who Are You?” According to Comicbook, a flashback scene featured Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter and Nyssa al Ghul’s half-sister successfully saving Oliver Queen from Bratva Pakhan Ishmael Gregor (David Meunier).
It was reported that Talia will be returning to the series as a possible ally for Oliver as he attempts to defeat Constantin Kovar. When Talia reveals what she wants in exchange, Oliver’s willingness to accept her help will falter.
Although a possible team up between the two remains undetermined, it seems that Talia may come out as a valuable ally despite being depicted as a villain in the original DC comic books.
Co-showrunner Wendy Mericle expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming episode during an interview with TV Line saying, “We have a pretty cool storyline that we’ve concocted, and I’m actually really excited about where it takes [Talia]. It’s basically tied to Oliver’s past in Russia and also in figuring out who Prometheus is… She will be a crucial part of that.”
‘Arrow’ season 5’s episode 11, titled “Second Chances,” is scheduled to air on The CW on February 1, 2017. The episode was directed by Mark Bunting and written by Speed Weed and Sarah Tarkoff. It will be followed by episode 12, titled "Bratva," scheduled for February 8.
