New York, April 05, 2018 -- Advent Capital Management, LLC (“Advent”), an investment management firm with more than $9 billion in assets under management, announced today that Alex von Ziegesar has joined the firm as managing director of business development, reporting to Kris Haber, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Alex will be responsible for marketing a variety of traditional and alternative strategies in the U.S. institutional channel.
“We’re extremely excited to welcome Alex to the Advent family, where we continue to see a need and demand from institutional investors for innovative traditional and alternative strategies given rising volatility and climbing interest rates,” said Kris Haber. “Given his experience working across various asset classes, as well as his ability to form lasting business relationships, Alex will be an integral part of our efforts to help bring Advent’s strategies to investors searching for alternatives to traditional asset classes.”
Alex, who is based in New York, brings 19 years of industry experience and expertise engaging with a variety of private equity, hedge fund and structured product solutions. He has developed deep relationships as a fund marketing manager across endowment & foundation, insurance, corporate/public pension and family offices investors in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.
Prior to joining Advent, von Ziegesar headed investor relations and business development for Talara Capital Management in New York. There, he successfully helped lead strong growth of the alternative asset management firm, which specializes in public and private market investment strategies. Before that, Alex spent nearly a decade leading alternative investment sales for BBVA, growing institutional and private capital for the company’s diverse product suite. He spent the beginning of his career, from 1999-2007, in various sales positions at a number of large financial institutions including Société Générale, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. Alex holds a master’s degree from the Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he studied international finance and business. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont.
