A Hillary Clinton IT Personnel Reportedly Asked Redditors For Email Altering Advice

There is a probe currently underway with regards to reports that an IT personnel employed by the presidential aspirant Hillary Clinton asked users at Reddit for advice on altering emails back in 2014. Representatives from the House Oversight Committee are looking into the matter right now to determine its validity.

The new scandal was actually initiated by a Twitter user with the handle @GOPPollAnalyst, The Washington Post reports, and she currently has over 3000 followers. That’s not a lot by social media standards, but the relatively minor account is apparently big enough to cause the Clinton team some major problems.

According to the Tweet by Analyst, a Reddit post by username “stonetear” supposedly asked other users for email advice. The Twitter sleuth is alleging that the user was actually an IT specialist that worked for Hillary Clinton via “Platte River Networks” named Paul Combetta.

Specifically, the post involves questions with regards to the retention and deletion of emails, as well as altering certain details about messages that contained highly sensitive information. Hillary Clinton has been plagued with issues about the emails that she supposedly had deleted all throughout her bid for the presidency. This new development is bound to give her opponents new ammunition with which to attack her.

Among those leading the probe include Republican lawmaker Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina, The Washington Times reports. It’s also worth noting that Combetta defied orders by Congress to preserve certain email correspondence, according to the documents released by the FBI when they were investigating the case of the deleted emails by Clinton.

Rep. Jason Chafftz, Utah-R actually filed to have Combetta charged with obstruction of justice. At the time, however, the department had already granted him with immunity. As a result, Combetta suffered no criminal punishment for his actions.
