Apple’s next lineup of smartphones are not expected to be released until fall, but fans have an idea at what it will look like. Another reputable source agreed that the earlier rumored new camera design on iPhone 11 could be real. Also, the tech giant will reportedly offer new color variants this year.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman shared information and leaked images from insiders confirming that the iPhone 11 series will have a new boxed design for its rear-facing cameras. One of the photos is purportedly showing iPhone case moldings with all of them sporting the new layout.
Alleged next iPhone case moldings show what we discussed in our story last week in terms of new cameras. 3 on the high end, 2 on the new XR. Plus all models apparently getting a square, at least based on this one mold floating around. https://t.co/BhAFTZZL6u pic.twitter.com/QlNJTsApzX

Two of the iPhone 11 moldings suggests that two devices will have a three-lens camera feature. The other one, reportedly for the refreshed iPhone XR, will have two lenses. Apple is known for releasing devices with embossed cameras, and this layout is apparently carried over to the upcoming smartphones. Most people replying to Gurman's tweet do not seem impressed with the design change.
Meanwhile, the design for camera placements is not the only change in the iPhone 11 series. The same source reported that Apple would be offering a new lineup of color variants in 2019.
Gurman's second tweet shows a photo of pieces of glass in colors lavender, purple, and green while samples for the white and black variants are also present. However, it might not be available for the premium iPhone 11 devices and will be offered on the new version of iPhone XR.
And here’s what appear to be your next-generation iPhone XR colors (lavender purple and green instead of blue and coral) as @idanbo reported earlier this week: https://t.co/KQQ6JKmZg9 pic.twitter.com/7k3WZC2ZUi

iPhone 11 devices are expected to sport the same edge-to-edge screen design that started with the iPhone X in 2017. However, there are also reports that Apple eyes to release the new smartphones with thinner bezels than its predecessors.
Apple will hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference on June 3-7 at the San Jose Convention Center in California. But that is an unlikely venue to announce the iPhone 11 as the company typically holds another event in September for its new devices.
