Damm merupakan research fellow pada Asia Research Centre, Universitas Indonesia (ARC UI), dan dosen tetap pada Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Indraprasta PGRI, Jakarta (FBS Unindra). Ia menyelesaikan pendidikan sarjana Ilmu Filsafat dan magister Antropologi di Universitas Indonesia. Saat ini tengah menempuh pendidikan doktoral pada bidang Antropologi Sosial di University of Gothenburg, Swedia.
