Julia is an accomplished management scholar who is committed to helping improve the effectiveness of organizations through a strategic approach to human resources management. She is also an advocate for change within higher education, most recently through her role as Dean of the College of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph. Formerly, Julia was President of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She has spoken at the United Nations General Assembly on the need to teach business with integrity as reflected in the UN's Principles for Responsible Management Education Initiative (PRME) and to help advance the UN's sustainable development goals (the SDG's). Guelph's MBA in sustainable commerce was recognized in 2018 by Corporate Knights better planet MBA ranking as one of the best in the world (9th). Julia has facilitated many national and provincial events focused on disruption in higher education and improving the quality of teaching and learning. Her work on academic integrity has garnered national and international attention. Julia is regularly sought as a keynote speaker and has received a number of awards for her work.
