PhD Candidate in Mental Health Genetics, University of Cambridge

I'm currently writing up my thesis on the genetic inheritance of mental illness in the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge. I've previously written opinion pieces on mental health and written a series of articles based on interviews with senior figures in the welfare systems of the University of Cambridge. Most recently I was invited to discuss mental health and welfare provisions at Pembroke College, Cambridge, in our yearly publication The Martlet.

My portfolio is diverse - I've written for rowing blog Hear the Boat Sing and last year I wrote my first piece for Rowing and Regatta, the magazine of British Rowing. Though most of my portfolio is UK-based I was born, raised and educated Australian. I grew up in 90’s Queensland, in 2007 I was the National Senior Winner for the Taronga Poetry Prize, and while earning my Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) at the Australian National University I was published in the ANU Undergraduate Research Journal and won the 16th Lions Oratory Competition.
