Alex Newman is a Professor in the Department of Management at Deakin Business School, Deakin University and Associate Dean (International) for the Faculty of Business and Law. Prior to joining Deakin, Alex worked at Monash Business School, Monash University. He has also worked in both China and Japan, and previously taught at Nottingham University Business School in Ningbo China. Alex conducts research in the areas of organizational behaviour, leadership and entrepreneurship. His research has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Applied Psychology, the Leadership Quarterly, Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship, Theory & Practice. In 2014 he was awarded the Vice Chancellors Award for Excellence as an Early Career Researcher at Monash University and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management's Early Career Researcher Award. He is currently section editor for Leadership and Ethics (quantitative) at the Journal of Business Ethics and is a consulting editor for the International Small Business Journal.
