TRENTON, N.J., June 15, 2017 -- Frank Weiss’ work as a cinematographer has taken him from New Jersey to the Middle East. Now, it’s taking him to Washington. “After Spring”, the feature documentary filmed by Weiss about the Syrian refugee crisis and shown at the Tribeca Film Festival is now part of World Refugee Day at the U.S. Capitol. Jon Stewart is the executive producer of the film.
“We’re very proud of Frank for his work on this fine and most worthy film,” says Norris Clark, managing partner at Princeton Strategic Communications. “But we are not surprised by his success in this venture, as we knew of his talents when we hired him about two years ago at our firm.”
Weiss, a native of Wildwood, is the photo and video specialist for Princeton Strategic Communications. Prior to joining PSC, he served in the United States Air Force. In 2013, at age 26, Weiss was named one of the Top 40 under 40 by Atlanticcityweekly.com.
He visited the Middle East twice for filming an average of eight to 10 hours daily, six days a week, for about 10 weeks. Weiss will be on hand for the big day in the nation’s capital.
“The Syrian refugee crisis is the largest of its kind, I believe, so the film fits very well” with World Refugee Day, says Weiss. “It's a good way to educate and show people a clearer picture of what the crisis really is.”
