DALLAS, April 18, 2017 -- Wingstop Restaurants Inc. (NASDAQ:WING) announced today that it is testing delivery on its made-to-order, hand-sauced and tossed wings, fries and sides at select locations in the Las Vegas area. The Company will be evaluating delivery as a vehicle to augment its already highly successful business model. As part of the test, the company is utilizing multiple service providers.
“Restaurant delivery is evolving, and we believe that it is prudent to see what role it could have for Wingstop. We remain firmly committed to preserving the quality of our food and will carefully consider transit time and best methods by which Wingstop food travels from the restaurant to our fans,” commented Charlie Morrison, Chairman and CEO of Wingstop. “Many of our loyal Wingstop guests have been asking for delivery, and we need to take this opportunity to test delivery and determine what role it could play in our model. We will only do delivery if we can do right by our fans.”
The test launched on April 3 and will run through the middle of summer. The Company will share preliminary, qualitative feedback on the test during its upcoming earnings call scheduled for early May.
