WageWorks Named Winner in 10th Annual Pay Awards

SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 11, 2016 -- Paybefore has selected WageWorks, Inc. (NYSE: WAGE), a leader in Consumer-Directed Benefits (CDBs), as a 2016 Pay Awards winner in the Best Health Benefits Delivery category. For 10 years, the Pay Awards has conferred the most prestigious recognition of excellence in the worldwide prepaid, mobile and emerging payments industry. The awards are presented annually by Paybefore, whose publications are the leading source of industry information for payments executives.

“We are always looking for ways to enhance the consumer experience and improve ease-of-use, and are honored that the WageWorks® Healthcare Card was recognized as a winner in the Best Health Benefits Delivery category,” said Joe Jackson, CEO of WageWorks. “We are dedicated to delivering a best-in-class customer experience and the WageWorks® Healthcare Card is just one of many solutions we offer to make Consumer-Directed Benefits easily accessible for millions of workers nationwide.”

WageWorks was selected by an expert judging panel that evaluated nominations from around the world.

“We’ve been recognizing excellence and innovation in payments for 10 years. Once again, we saw nominees from across the globe tackling payments problems with mastery and ingenuity,” says Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel. “From Silicon Valley startups to established powerhouses, the winners in this year’s competition reflect a dynamic industry with no sign of slowing its pace of expansion and change. We’re proud to recognize WageWorks’ contributions to advancing electronic payments.”

The WageWorks® Healthcare Card is the quick and easy way for consumers to use their healthcare benefit accounts to pay for eligible healthcare expenses. The WageWorks Healthcare Card was built with convenience in mind, as it's easily reloadable, and its smart feature automatically chooses the right benefit account funds are allocated from, such as their HSA or FSA.

WageWorks will now vie for Best-in-Category distinction, which will be announced during the Pay Awards ceremony on March 21 at the All Payments Expo. Visitors to Paybefore.com will have a chance to vote on Best in Category through Feb. 29. The outcome of this vote (counted as one-sixth of the total) will be combined with the five judges’ picks to determine Best-in-Category honorees.
