MALVERN, Pa., Jan. 12, 2018 -- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE:VSH) today announced its product lineup for the Automotive World Japan Show 2018, which takes place Jan. 17-19 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. Exhibiting in booth E47-40, East Hall 5, with a “Think Automotive, Think Vishay” theme, Vishay will highlight a wide range of products from its automotive product line, including capacitors, resistors, inductors, diodes, power MOSFETs, and optoelectronics designed to meet and exceed AEC qualifications.
At Automotive World Japan 2018, Vishay will showcase Automotive Grade and AEC-qualified devices for autonomous driving; infotainment, navigation, and audio applications; DC/DC converters; electric power steering (EPS) and motor drives; battery management; LED headlight units; direct injection control; engine cooling; and fuel pump control. Engineered and manufactured with a goal of zero defects, Vishay’s Automotive Grade devices exceed requirements for AEC qualification. Vishay’s AEC-qualified product families, including an array of semiconductors and passive components, likewise are optimized to provide the high temperature performance, small package size, low profile, long term reliability, and robust design critical to automotive applications.
A series of demos on the Vishay booth will mark the debut of several Vishay Automotive Grade and AEC-qualified devices in Asia. The company will show a second-generation steer-by-wire EPS base for autonomous driving which features a new MOSFET power stage in the PowerPAK® 8X8L as well as other components optimized for 48 V automotive systems including IHLP® inductors, glass protected NTC thermistors, surface-mount TMBS® (trench MOS barrier Schottky) rectifiers, Power Metal Strip® resistors, Thin Film and MELF resistors, and Vishay BCcomponents aluminum electrolytic capacitors. A mini-charger demo will showcase Vishay’s ENYCAP™ hybrid energy storage capacitor technology. On view for the first time in Asia will be a simulation of a low clamping transient voltage suppressor (TVS) for automotive applications.
The company will demonstrate its new fully integrated proximity and ambient light sensors, and its OptoBox with UVA/B, RGBW, IR, and other sensor technologies. MELF resistors, precision thin film, and high voltage power resistors will complete the exhibition. Vishay will demonstrate the superior thermal EMF characteristics of Vishay resistors and provide a comparison of the TCR for Vishay WSL® resistors and competing technologies; battery management using the WBP Power Metal Strip Intelligent Battery Sensor; as well as the EMI performance of IHLE inductors in DC/DC converter circuits.
Individual products on display will include a range of capacitors, such as AC-line-rated ceramic disc devices; multi-layer ceramic (MLCC) safety capacitors for automotive chargers; film devices for DC-Link, snubber, and filter applications; and aluminum and tantalum capacitors. Also on display will be FRED Pt® and TMBS rectifiers, including space-saving footprint and low profile package solutions in the eSMP® series, and PAR® transient voltage suppressors.
