SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 15, 2017 -- Vanir Group of Companies Inc. today announced that it has named Esmeralda Peña as its new director of Human Resources and a member of the company’s senior executive management team. She will be based at the company’s headquarters in Sacramento.
Peña will provide overall planning, management and direction of human resources functions, including recruiting, hiring and retention strategies; benefits; employee compensation and recognition programs; and employee performance review, appraisal and management.

Peña has worked for 15 years as a human resources professional, most recently as the human resources director at Crestwood Behavioral Health Inc. She also served as a regional human resources manager for National Stores Inc. and, previously, Ace Cash Express. Peña began her career in 2002 with Catholic Healthcare West (now Dignity Health) in Sacramento, working as a benefit administrator, recruiter/program coordinator, and program assistant.
Peña attended California State University, Sacramento, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and a master’s in business administration. She belongs to the California Chamber of Commerce and resides in Sacramento with her husband and two daughters. Peña enjoys running and has completed several half-marathons and the California International Marathon.
